Look Up for death records Owthorne with Rimswell
« on: Tuesday 06 February 24 08:56 GMT (UK) »
I am not subscribed to FindMyPast and there are 2 death records I need, can anyone please help?

1) Mary Longman (Biglin) - 1831 - Owthorne with Rimswell

2) John Longman - 1836 - Owthorne with Rimswell

Just another question, how do I find probate for above deaths?

Many Thanks

Mary - 21 October 1831, aged 61 of Frodingham

John - 28 February 1836, aged 77 of Patrington

Probate would only be available if either of them left a will.

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thank you for your reply.

How do I find out if they left a will?

More likely to find Probate records at the Borthwick. Back in the day I used to write to them asking if they has Probate records for my ancestors just giving them the names and when and where they died. They would write back telling me what they had and what it would cost.
You can do the same now using their online order forms which you fill in - then they give you an invoice which you can use to order what you want - if it is available.
Even if you had access to the index now made available through FindMyPast you still have this process of asking for them to give you a quote (invoice) which you then use to make an actual order.
