Wow!!! This seems to be true... the age is appropriate. And the surname seems to be too
RG11/23/57/17 - What does it mean? :)

They're the page ref in the census

Census yr code/piece number/folio number/Page number

You can enter them in the appropriate boxes in a census search

There seems to be similar surnames originating Saxony

Excellent find, Gadget. Taking it a bit further, Frederick Emil Julius Rouniger* married Martha Jane Tetlow at St Mary, Bowdon on 26 Feb 1853. He was a Professor of Singing, and son of Johann Frederick Ronniger*, Secretary of the High Court Post Office, Leipzig.

* - the surname might be spelled Ronniger (Cheshire BMD gives it as that), and the father's definitely looks like that, but there's a list of marriage licences which clearly has Rouniger.
Researching among others:
Bartle, Bilton, Bingley, Campbell, Craven, Emmott, Harcourt, Hirst, Kellet(t), Kennedy,
Meaburn, Mennile/Meynell, Metcalf(e), Palliser, Robinson, Rutter, Shipley, Stow, Wilkinson

Ahhh - I may have found him in Edinburgh in one of the censuses as a lodger, singing teacher.

I'll check back through my searches.  The name is not easy to find. I used lots of *

I've just checked the original and his age is 33 not 53. The rest of the transcription is correct.

Thanks, Calleva, I enjoy solving these puzzles  :)

Clever work all.

Husband was b Leipzig, Saxony which was in East Germany so maybe it got to Russia that way.

I can't find a death or any info on Frederick after the 1861. He may have gone back to his family or died in Scotland (not found there  so far).

Add - looking through the Leipzig, etc. records, Ronniger does seem to be a fairly common surname.
