For some reason this earlier topic is on the ENGLAND board-
I am looking for assistance in finding
James McCurley born 1889 Dumbarton,
Parents Charles/Sarah McCurley.
He may be on 1911 ireland census.
However cannot find any other info ,marriage, death certificates etc.

Is this the same James McCurley as in today's topic? if so, why are you asking for his parents when you've said they are Charles and Sarah?

Lots more information (3 pages) but I didn't read through it as I suspect you might already have details posted for you.

I cannot confirm if this James and one from other posts are indeed the same person hence the enquiry about parentage.
The only definitive info is James on 1901 census.
A James appears on 1911 ireland census from Scotland
Then there is no other info ,marriage ,death, war records  and so on , I follow any leads on this person where possible.
Thanks

Exactly what information do you have then? any useful clues on his death certificate? (parents won't be listed but occupation, informant, residence, marital status will help)
Death index (GRONI) says age 70-
D/1959/85/1007/7/197. James McCurley. 30th September 1959. 70. Male. Belfast.

I can't see anything for him in PRONI's Will Extracts (which also includes Administrations).

There were quite a few James McCurleys in the Belfast area. The one that died 30 Sept.1959 is buried in Belfast City Cemetery- Glenalina Ext. with another James McCurley of a similar age.

He is not the James McCurley, fitter, of 75 Glenbank Dr. that appeared in directories at that address 1943-1960. He died 19 Aug.1980.

A number of death notices in newspaper for the 1959 death of the James from 152 Utility Street. Wife named as Elizabeth, her subsequent death in newspaper 1981. Various children/children-in-law named. No mention of who his parents were. This James did not appear to have used the names Charles or Sarah for his children.

The James I am looking for is Scottish,
Last definitive listing is on the 1901 Scottish census .
The James on ireland census 1911 is Scottish Boarder with family.
Did this James stay in ireland?
