William Noyce
« on: Saturday 10 February 24 02:53 GMT (UK) »
Hello
Can anyone provide any pointers.
William Noyce was born in the December quarter of 1906 within the registration district of Hampstead. The GRO index doesn't provide a maiden name for the registration, might this indicate he was illegitimate?  I can't locate him on the 1911 Census but I can on the 1921 Census where he appears as the only resident in Hendon, but since I don't have access to the full record, I might be wrong.  He migrated to Western Australia in 1927 and died there in 1955, his death certificate gives no parentage.
Can anyone assist, I would be very appreciative.
Regards
Stuart McDonald, Western Australia.

No mothers name in index - yes, probably illegitimate. You would need to purchase the certificate to verify what parent has been recorded.
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)

Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

I had hoped to find a marriage for him in Australia so that you might purchasethe certificate and maybe  discover the parent names.

However, I do not see one.

Interestingly, I do see him with another of the surname on the  1949 electoral Roll, living at 122 Pi??e Street. Boulder.
A female. However, she does not appear with him again.

I think it's a different William Noyce, but intriguing.  The subject of the 1949 Roll, appears to have died in 2021 aged 98 in South Australia.  If you are accessing Rolls on the same site as I, the SA Rolls only include 1939-1943, so it looks like she disappears, but.....

My subject was unmarried, but, really I do appreciate your second set of eyes.  So, thank you very much Sue.

For interest, William NOYCE who travelled to Fremantle in 1927 has his last address as Turners Court, near Wallingford, Berkshire. His occupation is farmhand, he travelled with 3 other men from the same address.

Born in Hampstead workhouse - William, son of Alice, illegitimate. DOB 18 September 1906 (probably not registered until October).

Creed register shows her as Alice Noyce, servant, single, born 1880.  8 Belize Crescent former address. They were both discharged 30th October of the same year.  Next page shows that Alice Noyce's mother was also Alice, living in Fordingbridge, Hampshire.

 - this 1911 census in St Pancras seems a good possible for his mother.

I think possibly she might be Alice Charlotte    Noyce born 1879. This woman appears to have married George W H Bingham in Pancras in 1913, and they were living in Hampstead in 1921 (her birth here is just given as "Hampshire")

They appeared to have had three children. If there are descendants of William Noyce in Australia they may be able to prove the link by DNA.
