Looks like this could be the marriage of George and Selina:

George Welby Garrord and Selina Cluitt Mar.1867 Nantwich, Cheshire.  This is just from the GRO marriage index.

Good Evening,

I believe Annette7 on the balance of probability may have uncovered the marriage of George GARROD, as the 1871 Census confirms the couple living in St. Mary, Stafford (I am concerned, however, where the "Welby/Wilby" came from).   Incidentally, Selina insists she was born in Birmingham, Warwickshire, although Stafford is "just up the road I suppose".

A full, reasonably cohesive, picture is beginning to emerge of George GARROD and I really am grateful for all your messages and help.

You state at the outset that George was the illegitimate son of a George Edwards, small farm owner, and a Mary Garrod.   Where has this information come from?

Both his prison records and those of the Philanthropic Institute confirm details of his illegitimacy.
