Do you mean that is what is shown on someone's family tree?  If so I would take it with a pinch of salt until you have done the research yourself, or check what people on here have found for you.  Many of the trees on Ancestry are just thrown together with the first name that fits, without any real research being done.

The marriage entry for Edward Joseph Allum and Ellen Delay is available on Ancestry:

18 April 1897 - Holy Trinity, Hammersmith

Edward Joseph Allum, 21, Labourer.  Father:  Robert (deceased)
Ellen Delay, 18.  Father:  Frederick, Cellarman

According to 1939 Edward's dob is the 20.2.1876. By 1881 his mother Ann is living with Robert Meale whom marry the following year. This marriage image on Anc*, names Ann Susan Allum's father as Edward Allum-Carman. Ann Susan Allum born jq 1856 with mmn Bates. Edward Allum married Marian Bates dq 1846 Image on Anc*

Not sure why Edward when he marries in 1897 records Robert as "deceased" He did not die until 1926. Ann Susan Meale died 1900 aged 44

If the marriage entry I submitted is correct, then Edward Joseph served in WW1 and details of that entry are repeated.  4 children named:

James Frederick - 14 January 1905
William Charles - 18 December 1912
Lilian Irene - 8 August 1915
Ellen Margery - 17 January 1919

Images available on FindMyPast.
