Trying to find a family member Dowdall
« on: Tuesday 13 February 24 22:48 GMT (UK) »
So I trying to find Maggie Dowdall who went to England to become a nun in Essex. And become sister beatrice Cant find out anything.  Any ideas where I could look.  The order was in chigwell.  Not sure what year she went in but I would say after the 1911 aged 15 census she was still living at home in miskish more inniskeen county Monaghan Ireland.

Here are details of a Convent in Chigwell- the Sisters of the Sacred Hearts of Jesus and Mary.

We are not allowed to post details of the 1939 register but it seems that the sisters were also in Herne Bay, Kent

There is a death
Margaret Dowdall, d.o.b. 11th November 1894 - death September qypuarter 1980, Hillingdon.

Excellent yes that her.  Would you be able to find went she entered the convent.  And what she worked at..  I have been trying to find her for a long time.  And just would like to put something in her part of the family tree.  So she is not forgotten.

That is all that I could see. Now you have a bit more information on her, you could try contacting the convent to see if there are records.
