How to use quote function?
« on: Wednesday 14 February 24 05:24 GMT (UK) »
Grateful for some help on how to use the ‘quote’ function. Found some advice already posted in RC but still struggling.

Many thanks

Click on the red quote button.  A reply window opens up with the quoted material in it between two, bracketed quote commands.  Type your reply below the final quote command.  If you don't go below the final quote command, your reply will appear to be part of the quote.   If you want to strip down the quote to eliminate unnecessary words, you can edit the quote.  For example, I'm going to remove the words "Many thanks Stuart" from your message.

And make sure not to disrupt the html elements that are enclosed in square brackets eg [/quote]

Thank you all, I’ve attached my first attempt to check if I’ve understood correctly. I’ve also taken the liberty of changing Kiltaglassan’s post purely to demonstrate my newly acquired skills with a slightly uneasy feeling that history can be rewritten. To be clear, he did not write ‘mistoke’! 😁

My apologies, I’d assumed Kiltaglassan was male hence ‘he’ and hasten to correct my assumption if wrong.
