The CWGC only holds details of those who died in the two world wars. The bulk of the graves in the cemetery are from the years outside these dates.

There are just over 700 graves listed on findagrave

https://www.findagrave.com/cemetery/2147441/memorial-search?cemeteryName=Shorncliffe%20Military%20Cemetery&page=1#sr-152514489

There must be a plan of the cemetery somewhere (I've not found one yet).

You could try contacting

Are you saying that the MOD doesn't have any burial records, or just not those for Catholic burials? If it's latter, then I would suggest trying the nearest Roman Catholic Church in the area. Army Chaplains represent all of the major world faiths, and so I would have assumed it would have been an Army RC Chaplain who dealt with the funeral service and interment rather than a local priest, and records would be held centrally for the whole cemetery. If the MOD don't have any records, I would suggest trying Kent archives in Maidstone. The Remembrance Trust have previously done some remedial work in the cemetery, so it might be worth contacting them first: https://www.theremembrancetrust.com/shorncliffe-cemetery

TNA have a plan of the cemetery but it's dated 1917 so probably not much help. https://discovery.nationalarchives.gov.uk/details/r/C2132685

Hi Bearkat

I am the guy who writes that blog.

Including the 700 or so graves on Find a Grave, have records of over 2000 burials in the cemetery.
