Glancing at the trees on Ancestry, it's difficult to quickly discern reliable information from other information.  But take the following example attached to a tree, it's a snippet for deciphering from a form 30A 'Canada, Ocean Arrivals' signed in February 1920 by a 56 year old married miner William Smith, arriving from Glasgow, who mentions a John Young (husband of a niece) and a mother-in-law Isabella Madden.

Is this the right William?  If so, I'm seeing 'County Derry Ireland'. I don't think it's 'Kerry'.

That’s a good find - although as it is from a tree, you would think others would have found it too.  ;)
There was a daughter, Isabella and in 1891, there is a Catherine Madden with mother Isabella so looks promising.
It does look like Derry.

And again attached to one of the trees, is a card from the U.S., Border Crossings from Canada to U.S., 1895-1960 collection, it's from 1921 and is for a 56 year old coal miner called William Smith and mentions his wife Catherine, in the following snippet the birth place looks like 'Green Lough Ireland' to me, open to views.

Is this the correct William?

BTW, I think there is a Greenlough in the Clady area of Co. Derry. :-\

I should have said that the form 30a (reply #18) and the border crossing card (reply #20) connect together, for both mention the same ship and (nearly) the same date for William's journey from Glasgow.

I can’t access those from the trees but I wonder why they have not been researched by those involved. It looks as though the trees are copied and accepted with very little research. Of course, this is not unusual.

Added - perhaps that is where ‘Grenagh’ comes from in birth record.

There certainly is.
On the outskirts of Clady is Greenlough GAA ground and St Oliver Plunkett's Church, Greenlough.

I think this is William and family in 1931, Ontario.
This gives his birthplace as England with Irish parents.

The transcription of his 1901 census in Shettleston, is ‘Ealand’ which could be Ireland or England, I suppose.

Ireland? Birthplace

Are you sure? I'm seeing the letters 'Sco' overwritten with 'Ire' followed by 'land', to my mind's eye there's no tail in the word to suggest the 'g' in England. There are good examples of 'Scot', 'Scotland' and 'England' in nearby entries for comparison.
