Either someone's telling porkies on census or I have misread something.

Not found Jane and Jane yet. Wales census ref as posted shows John (hence telling porkies) but the place of abode-Llantwit Fardre is correct

Is it definitely John?  Ancestry have transcribed the person as Mansfield. The first letter of the surname looks more like the other capital Ms on the page than the B of Bryan immediately above. He's an ag lab not a colliery worker. Does look like he's married though

Not at all, am grateful for others trying to help. I so appreciate being able to see the BC and know where they were. Sadly I don't think it is him..but am now able to check all census for area page by page.

Checked all through Rhiw, family are not there..must have moved just before birth or some is missing. Happy to know where they were thanks to SS appreciated 

A positive is that is where the Barnfield family were in 1851 so looks like it could be the correct family,

MC should arrive in a few days to clarify hopefully.
