Agnes Cartwright - Marriage in Calcutta 1903

Hello All,

I have an Agnes Cartwright (born 1877) who marries a George T Lane in Calcutta. India in 1903. Her father is given as Joshua and deceased at the time of the marriage.
I know that Agnes and George lived in India for some years before returning home to the UK.
I cannot find any matches for Agnes (with father Joshua) in the UK records or any of the Indian record sets that I have been able to access.
I would like to find out something about her life before her marriage to George.

The marriage record doesn't say that Joshua Cartwright was deceased (he's one of the few fathers on that page who wasn't marked as deceased)

I have no records to confirm that she was born in the UK. They returned in the mid 1920's.

In 1891 she is a pupil

This looks promising. She states father deceased on marriage certificate in 1903 so if we can find THIS Joshuas death sometime between 1901 and 1903 then it looks good.
What area are we talking about for this family of Cartwrights?

Agnes born Dukinfield Cheshire.  When on census with father living Bury Lancashire.

ShaunJ has posted that father Joshua wasn't shown as deceased on the marriage.

The father of this Agnes wasn't deceased. 

Any other info that might help?  Is there an occupation given for her father?  This one was a civil engineer employer.

There is an obituary in the Manchester Evening News for Joshua 24 Mar 1923.

I haven't access to it on newspapers but if you can read that and it mentions Agnes then hopefully it will confirm if this is the correct family or not.
