Who is the Evelyn Frances MOORE baptised at Heavitree Devon, 5th January 1859
daughter of Lorenzo MOORE a Gent, and Frances

the birth registration has the mother's name before marriage as MOORE
And which Lorenzo is that?  There do seem to be a few Lorenzo MOOREs around!

Another child of Lorenzo George MOORE and Frances at Devon - baptised at Mortenhamstead Devon 18 June 1857 - Rasul Adolphe MOORE (transcript only)

Raoul Adolphe MOORE birth registered Newton Abbot Jun qtr 1857 mmn MOORE

Looks like he died in Italy 28 Nov 1937 (with a will)

If you can establish a link between Evelyn and Calvert Fitzgerald MOORE, his ancestry is documented in "Irish Pedigrees (Vol 2) by John O'HART 1892 . His family seem to be from Co Wexford.

I attach the probate notice for Raoul  as there are some other Italian names on it that might mean something.

So… is Lorenzo George Moore, the father of Raoul Adolphus (and Evelyn) the  same as Lorenzo George Moore who said he was a bachelor in 1874 when he married Lucy Caroline Morris??

Or is he the Lorenzo Moore cavorting around Exeter until at least 1894 when he was sentenced to 3 months in prison.

Calvert was a widower in 1851 and in 1841 he has just George, Catherine, and James living with him at St George Hanover Square.

It is likely that his wife Julia died 5 March 1834 aged 32 years, the burial register giving her address as St George Hanover Square.

Children born to Calvert and Julia:
13 July 1832 Julia (St George, Hanover Square)

There was another daughter Amelia Mary Anne who was his youngest daughter and she died in 1848 at Tunbridge Wells in her 15th year.

Julia and Amelia Mary Anne (Mary) might have been away at school in 1841.

Evelyn's grandfater (mother side) was Calvert Fitzgerald Moore - chapelain of Queen Victoria, her mother was Julia Moore, Calvert's doughter but we do not know who was her father.

It does seem more likely that Evelyn was the daughter of Lorenzo, not his half sister Julia.  Perhaps she was raised by Julia if she was illegitimate and did not stay with either parent.  You would need to see Lorenzo's occupation on the birth or baptism to positively identify him as the father.  He was 'George' in 1841.

First of all, thank you fo the infos. We only have the death announcement of Evelyn. I suppose that Madame Moore was Julia (Frances?) Moore, I understand that she dead two years after her daughter Evelyn (1813), in Geneva. Raoul (Adolphe?) Moore was Evelyn's brother and she had also two sisters: Beatrix and Blanche (probably they were born in Brussels... as told the gran gran mother Renata Asinelli to my father in law)
