Thanks Sandra, I was going to send you a DM but your inbox is full so it wouldn't go.
It seems Ivy moved in wealthy circles, marrying a millionaire lumberman, then Mr Plunkett working in a Bond House according to one of the censuses I looked at. The passenger info supports that. Interesting that she becomes younger with each record! Although 1891 could be a misreading of 1897 originally perhaps?
Ivy married Robert Goodman on 25 Apr 1914 (in Chicago, Cook, Illinois) so became naturalized on marriage to a US citizen.
Maddys52 unfortunately saved the wrong article about their divorce and was making use of the free weekend access to the newspaper archives, so cannot see it again.
It would be interesting if you could find it for me please? I don't know the year, but she remarried in 23 Jun 1933 in Cook, Illinois to Raymond J Plunkett.
Also are there any reports of a Robert B Goodman marrying a Pernetta E Schmid (her father was from Prussia and a doctor practising in New York; mother a musician/music teacher) on 7 May 1901 in White Plains. In various censuses she is shown as born in the US (New York). In 1900 Federal census shows born July 1871, and 28 yrs old. In 1905 she was at her family's address with a 2 year old daughter, of Pernetta E Goodman. She's with the Schmids in 1910, married. In 1920 she is with the Schmids and shown as divorced.
Just wondering as in Ivy's ex-husband's marriage record to Dorothy O Thomas 5 Jun 1942 in Iron, Michigan when he was 69, a lumberman, states he was married once, not twice. Dorothy was a secretary, 37, not previously married.
Thanks very much.
