Looking for any information on Aileen Maud and her three sons.
« on: Wednesday 21 February 24 17:17 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information on the Green Family "Aileen Maud b Jan 8 1908 17 Miller St Derry City, Ireland rumoured to have married a man named Green and went to England and never heard from afterwards".  This was the youngest daughter of William Reilly and Margaret Hawthorn.
I found an Eileen Maud Green in the 1939 register for Barnsley same D of B.,  and a death record for an Eileen M Green 1940, age 32 in the Civil Reg Death Index, leaving 4 young children without a mother.  The 1939 register has written in red "adopt" beside one child and recorded the family name of Boyes, another child has kept his family name but it is hyphenated Green-Spikesley.  I do not know anything about their father.  My theory is that some of the children were adopted and the father has gone to war.  Can anyone add any information.  Thankyou in advance/
Stewart, Reilly, Montgomery, Cheshire, Lyttle, Rankin, Apthorpe, Hart, Anderson,  Gourley

Green-spikesley entered into Freebmd gives a marriage in 1958 and two probable daughters marriages & births.

Am seeing no deaths. Possibly still living?
Even though showing on the 1939.  Plenty of us have living relatives on there who have escaped redaction.

The son re:1939

Edward Green born 16 July 1935 was registered Barnsley Yorkshire, September quarter 1935
Vol. 9C page 346 with mother's maiden name Reilly.

A PDF copy of his birth record will give you the fathers name. Cost £2.50

those £2.50 images are only available for births to  1923 :-(
it would have to be a full £11 one I think

Thanks for the update.

I haven't found the other children's registrations.

it is interesting that the Grave Proprietor of Aileen Maud's older sister, Jessie, who died age 14 is Samuel Canning.

Perhaps the births of Samuel and John were in Ireland?
