John Akiens 1795-1845 Belgrave

Hi all, I'm looking for some help with my Akiens (Akins, Akens)
I've found a tree that lists a number of Akiens ancestors. It actually has complete birth and death dates though I'd suspect the birth dates are more likely baptism.
I wanted to find the records so that I have some sort of paper trail so got busy on ancestry and FindMyPast but for some reason I can't access the baptism images for any of my Akiens. I've tried for several days now but I get what looks like a button that doesn't work. Therefore I can't browse the parish registers to find the information I need to confirm the dates on the tree.
So. Starting with John Akiens who was born in Belgrave on possibly 22/2/1795 and married Susannah Thacker of Market Harborough  on 4/9/818.
I wondered if anyone could check these dates for me please also if anyone could find John and Susannah on the 1841 census. I'd be very grateful for any help you can give. TIA

I can't see any records of people with that surname at Belgrave in the time period suggested (even allowing for variant spellings). I'm looking on FindMyPast, are there Belgrave records which haven't made it onto there?

There were Atkins and Adkins, could they be connected?

I can't see a marriage between John and Susannah THACKER either, maybe I'm going a bit doolally?
There was a marriage between John AKINS and Susannah GREEN at St Margaret, Leic (both OTP) on 28 March 1814 but no others that even vaguely match that I can see. Perhaps someone else will have sharper eyes!

Looking at baptisms on FindMyPast and on the LRFHS CD, I can see a total of 8 children with parents John and Susannah, and surname Akin, Akins, Aikin, Aikins, Akiens. (there's one other likely one with surname Atkins). The dates of these baptisms run from 1815 - 1833, and they're all at Leic St Margaret, which would suggest to me that they belong to the couple who married there in 1814 as per my previous post.

I can see an ancestry tree which has this family on and links back to Belgrave for Dad, and gives Thacker as Susanna's maiden name. But it doesn't give any sources for this. It links to the 1841 census showing the Akiens family in St Margaret which matches the one above.

Have you tried contacting them to see where they got their info? I'm not sure it would be very helpful though as the "sources" to which they've linked seem to be other Ancestry trees ---

I thought I was losing the plot when I couldn't find anything related to my Akiens family from the details on the family trees I saw.
I'll take a look at the Leicester St Margaret ones and see how it fits all in with what I know. Thank you so much for the help.

I can't find anything to back up the dates on those trees, no deaths either, so I'm beginning to think they fished them out of the air!

1851 Census Susanna Akiens is down on Anc as born c 1799 Harbne, Leicestershire.

Looks like John was deceased by 1841 as not on Census with her and children.

There is this bapt;

Susanah GREEN 21 Jan 1794, St Dionysius , Market Harborough to WILLIAM/ANNE
She has siblings;
Joseph 1788
Sarah 1789
Mary 1791
William 1796
Benjamin 1798

Marriage same Church 11 Feb 1788 William GREEN Bachelor to Ann WALDEN Spinster

There is a marriage for their daughter, Mary Ann Akeins (sic), to William Knight on 11th October 1840.
Mary of Belgrave Gate and John a Woolcomber.
Witnesses: John and Sarah Akeins. All made a mark, and John could be the father or his son.

There is a John Akiens burial in All Saints on 31 December 1834, but born 1789.

Burial looks likely to me.

If born c 1799 as 1851 has for Susanna she would be very young in 1814 when married.

1794 bapt looks more likely to me and John 5 years older.

Also Tree have her dying 1869.
Cant see her 1861 Census or Death Reg for her 1851-1871.
Also John/Susan name as Son Benjamin and she has a brother with that name
