Hi,
Ive hit a brick wall with my ancestor Joseph Curry (Snr) born 1735 died 1839 (yes, he was 103!!!) I cant find any birth records or parish records of him before his marriage to Ann Dunn in 1771. He died in Gilling West and was a blacksmith. According to the banns posted, he was a rsident of that parish. Ancestry.com seems to be sending me down the American route, but Im not convinced, especially as I cant find any birth/baptism records for him. There apparently WERE Currys in Yorkshire that immigrated to Elizabeth City VA at the correct time frame,  but I cant find any definitive sources to link MY Joseph Curry (alt sp Currey) with the American branch.
Any help greatly appreciated!!!
