Hi Debra
From reply #3 could you tell me where this specific information comes from! Was it ancestry??

In 1930 she said she was aged 20, born Cootamundra, and the daughter of Jack HAYNES, a Traveller, and Lila Beatrice McCOOLE.  Many thanks Dianna

Debra
I now realise that you have actually seen the marriages on ancestry for Lila Grace and that is where the information came from!!  Oops sorry a senior moment for me.

I may order the marriage certificates.  Many thanks Dianna

Lila Beatrice tried to marry Norman McPHERSON on 9 Feb 1921 as Lila Beatrice HAYNES, a widow, but it is crossed through and noted 'no wedding'.  I cannot see the marriage where she used McCOOLE, so perhaps it was in a registry office.

Debra  :)

Just to add to this I found LILA B MCCOOLE or MaCCOOLE marrying Norman McPherson Sydney 1921.

So strange you found the one crossed out!  I've never seen that before.  The parents are correct as CHARLES MCCOOLE and Elizabeth (Matilda) SHARP.  Many thanks Dianna

As it turns out the man's name was Edward Henry HAYNES.
The date of this petition 1922 suggests she, Lila Beatrice,  could not marry McPherson because she was still married to HAYNES
