Connecting Android phone to Windows10 laptop
« on: Friday 23 February 24 13:24 GMT (UK) »
I used to be able to connect my phone to my laptop, in order to copy photos.
Tried this morning, but to no avail!
Microsoft wants e to login - Why?!
Try scanning a QR code, they said. Does absolutely nothing!

Does anyone have any hints on how to transfer photos from an Android 10 phone to Windows 10?

I have used Bluetooth in the past but find that sending them via e-mail is good for  multiple images.

Connect phone to PC via USB cable.
Look for well hidden prompt in Android that asks you to confirm connection
The phone memory will then show up as a "disk" in Windows file explorer
You can drag, drop, copy photos as you wish.

The secret is to look out for the Android prompt, that may not be obvious on the phone - look in "Notifications".

Thanks, greenrig.

Finally got connected.

1. Connect phone with USB cable.
2. In Settings, use the Search facility to find USB Preferences.
3. Under "This Phone", Click on "File Transfer" - defaults to "No Data Transfer"?!
