Missing Fennill Line
« on: Sunday 25 February 24 16:04 GMT (UK) »
Hi everyone, I am trying to trace one branch of my tree, the Fennill family.

My 3x Great Grandmother, Margaret, was born around 1828 in Manchester. She appears in the 1841 Census with parents Owen & Ann Fennill (both born in Ireland) and is living in Ancoats with a sister named Ann. Owen is recorded as having been born in 1784 and his wife Ann in 1788. Owen is a Weaver and Ann a Winder. On Margaret's wedding certificate at Manchester Cathedral in 1849 the father, Owen Fennill, is listed as being a Weaver again and Margaret is noted as living at 80 Marshall Street (her later hubby, Owen Thomas is living at 74 Marshall Street) Manchester.

I have more information on Margaret but nothing that ever mentions a Fennill relative after her wedding and I have no other information about Owen & Ann or their daughter Ann.

Can anyone shed any light on anything further please?

Thanks, Luke

Manchester Catholic Records https://mlfhs.uk/databases/catholic-records

Has these in the index

John Fennell baptised 1831, St Chads
Owen Fennell father of John Fennell 1831
Ann Mellor mother of John Fennell 1831

I can’t find any entries re Ann and Margaret

The Dublin couple had an Ann baptised in 1815 - too early but may have died?
