Gosh, Brigidmac, you deserve medals for bravery, perseverance  and fortitude.
I hope you get the help you need, keep us posted.

Well guess what —— it is raining -!
And—- bin day today!
And my milk bill for February must be paid !
I don’t know how I stand the excitement.

In a “ sorting out “mood - I keep old bits of cloth for things like paint rags etc, well son will need some no doubt so picked out some good ones for him.
The rest in the shed with  tins of paint , rollers  ,brushes etc.

It seemed strange this morning with no drops to put in my eyes, since just before Covid lockdown 2020,there have been so many .
(Only those for dry eyes now .)
I am very grateful.

Best wishes to those unwell, some complicated conditions which must be very difficult.
No news of my little friend, so I assume she is still in hospital .
Poor soul, but her daughters do seem to be more involved now so I hope she is at least more settled.
Cheerio.Viktoria.

We can also see our patient records and test results on the Systmonline page.  Makes interesting reading sometimes! Appointments can be booked through this site, so there's no waiting for someone to answer the phone at busy times.

Ours has this named system too where we can order repeat prescriptions and in theory see the test results but not always. We used to be able to book appts through this too , but post covid they removed this option which is a nuisance and we have to go through their phone triage service with a trained receptionist we’re told, to see if we are allowed to see a nurse who can only take blood, a nurse who can do other things, a nurse practitioner who can prescribe or in theory a gp , however the gp option is never given. You have to see one of the nurse options first who then might then say you have to make an appt with a nurse who is allowed to do x or y and then when you see them three weeks later, they say oh you need an appt with a gp but it’ll be another 3 weeks before they will give you a gp phone appt. It’s not a great system imo.

Getting old or older is a headache.... In my own head, I am 17 but my body tells me I am 76. What can one do, other than try and keep fit. I used to pack so much in a day... Working, cooking, cleaning...

Anyway, glad you are getting help my dear. Pull cords are alright if you are close to them. Our scheme offer us cords you hang round your neck, like grotty looking pendants...😂 enjoy your evening

You can,    i am led to believe get a watch type alarm which  should always be with you if you remember to put it in everyday, I am also led to believe  you can get waterproof ones,  worth looking into .

Thanks Viktoria for your kind words I think everyone with health problems has those qualities.

Louisa Maud yes there are even apps which you can have on your mobile phone

I'm looking into the watch alarms or neck ones . The ones where you push the button yourself are about £60 per year cheaper than the automatic ones that can sense if you are unconscious. + Send messages to your friends or relatives.

Marion I think I'm 30 in my head .

My mother is 93 and drives .walks gardens and chips wood 🪓🪵 for her fire 🔥
Which makes me feel that my body is  older than hers  .

Had a lovely day today, took some old clothes to a textile exhibition they are making new collages next week .and also wanted things for costumes for world book day and they invited me to go and do multi lingual storytelling with sign language there next Saturday. A sit down activity !!

A friend is coming to stay for a few days tomorrow between house refurbishment. She's an easy going  independent guest .

I had to call the balance doctor as the exercises he gave me caused more woosiness when i.lay on my left ...he told me  to stop them + rebook and appointment where they can examine my reflexes more thouroughly

Have an appointment with housing people on 14th  and a hearing test but am definitely bouncing back .

I empathise, brigidmac.
I, too, have balance issues - hydrocephalus.
I get by using a stick, but don't venture out in windy conditions.
I have a walker, but too afraid to use it. Where I live, I have to negotiate steep slopes whichever way I go. The brakes stop the wheels going round, but then the whole walker slides on the pavements!

Saw a neurological specialist in December. Apparently they want me in for a lumbar drain "sometime in the New Year"?!
For anyone in the North West it will be at The Walton Centre, Liverpool.

Whew!
Such a lot of difficult conditions you both have, but you soldier on!

How interesting re the clothes, I have never forgotten a display, made by a student and us probably still on show, amongst which was a jacket made from —— the  individual seed heads of dandelions - how ever they got the little fluffy things on their stalks to behave I cannot imagine !
In Manchester’s Museum if Science and Industry .

I have been toying with the idea of volunteering to hear readers at the nearby school where formerly I worked .
I think all the staff even the young ones will have left now and it went through a bad patch.Having been the second best in the league tables to much further down the table.
Seems to have recovered.

Son is back today after a visit to head office and he called on  some friends.

No church this morning, the service  is a joint one at Edenfield Church,an ancient Chapel of Rest for pilgrims on their way to Whaley Abbey .
No bus service and the people who would give me a lift are not able to go.
Coincidentally the old head of the school I mentioned was Lay Preacher there.

A cold- very-  morning but bright sunshine too.
Got some cheerful daffodils when I shopped yesterday.

Feel much better this morning
Start two new drugs today after finally getting the mess sorted out , well double dose of Ramipril and a new one , Forxiga,( Dapagliflozin ) ——-
We will see how I get on with those.

A chicken curry for tea as I have no idea if son’s time of arrival  so I will make  it this morning to heat up.
I forgot to get crispy poppadums!

Emailed my friend whose son died so suddenly but no answer as yet,I might phone later or write a letter.
She had no part in the funeral, but is almost 90 and felt unable to do the journey even in her  other son’s car .
There must be no sense of closure for her.How very difficult .
It is her B/day  the 8th,  I think a blank card will be the most tactful.

Well lots to do and I hope everyone is having reasonable weather and those with health problems get some improvement.

A bright sunny day and my washing line is full of towels.  My mother would have been horrified to see washing out on a Sunday, but we are going away for a few days and I want to keep the laundry situation up to date.  I really don't know where it all comes from with just the two of us.  The laundry basket seems to be always full, like the Magic Porridge Pot (Brothers Grimm) and I don't know the magic word to stop it.

Enjoy the weekend, everyone!

Sunny here too. I'm watching a film about the life of one of my Facebook friends .

It's called  " Give them Wings "  based on a wheelchair user s life . He's from Darlington ( up north ) I think the accents are authentic . His mother is played by Royal Wilcox .
@ well spotted KG   correction ; spellcheck has changed Toyah to Royal

I got to know him thru family history research

It's a sad film

May go for a little walk while the sun lasts

I LL see if I can post a pic of one of the textile displays
Did it but it's very large .
