Emigration form UK - William George Bloomfield
« on: Monday 26 February 24 10:26 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I have a William George Bloomfield (born 1880, Newport, Wales) who marries in 1914 in Ontario, Canada to a Mabel P Thomas (born 1889, Aberystwyth, Wales).

I would like to establish if they went out together or met in Canada etc but cannot find any records of their emigration to Canada. William left the Royal Navy sometime after 1906 so cannot have emigrated before that date which gives a window of approximately 1906 to 1914.

I can see that they are still in Canada in 1931 with a growing family of five children.

Thanks,
Paul
I lived in Ardwick, Manchester in the early 1960s as a small child and much travelling of the world has now led me to want to know more about my roots. Carter, Beckwith, Connolly, Heron and Kelly are all names that form part of my family tree.

On the 1921 and 1931 census Mabel immigration is 1914 and William is 1910.
Don't instantly jump out on passenger lists. Still looking.
The obits for William and Mabel doesn't give any clues.

Per his CEF record, as at 2 August 1916 there was a child Richard Thomas Bloomfield aged 4, as well as George Page Bloomfield aged 12 months.

Added: at the time of his discharge in 1918, George Page Bloomfield was his only living child.

The birth of the first son, Richard Thomas would be two years before his marriage to Mabel in 1914?
