Dorset Family History Society's Monthly Meeting
« on: Monday 26 February 24 20:45 GMT (UK) »
Dorset Family History Society will be hosting a talk on Tuesday 16th April 2024 at 7.30pm by BRIAN BATES entitled 'AN IMAGINARY WALK THROUGH 17TH CENTURY DORCHESTER'.

In the early 17th century Dorchester was seen as a hotbed of puritan  revolution. As we take an imaginary walk through the town we see how Durnovarians were affected by, and contributed to, the cataclysmic national events that led to Civil War. We will also see how the high and the low born dealt with the everyday tribulations of hunger, sickness and crime.

Dorset FHS are pleased to welcome back Brian Bates who has given talks on various topics of Dorchester history before.

PLEASE NOTE: This meeting is a face-to-face meeting at St George’s Church Hall, Darby's Lane, Oakdale, Poole, Dorset BH15 3EU. Doors open at 7.00 p.m.

Some Monthly Meetings are held by Zoom to enable those further afield to attend.

Please check members E-news or the website www.dorsetfhs.org.uk should there be any last minute changes.

Entry is £3 to include tea/coffee and biscuits.

EVERYONE WELCOME.
