Which church was used for the baptism? As you say it was from the Capel Curig register I would suggest a house nearby. It is unlikely they would travel more than a few miles in late December to baptise a baby.

Could I just add that it was usual in rural areas in those days that the vicar/curate would go around the parish and baptise the child in the parents' home.

Parc Glynliffon was built in 1830, but history suggests there was a house there before. Large houses often recruited workers from some distance away, as it stopped them running home.

Hi, she was baptised in Clynnog Fawr. I have just found a record from 1811. A burial of an Ellin Prichard of Parc - aged 98. I can't at the moment associate her with Jane Prichard (or her father Richard Jones), but there is definitely a Parc in the clynnog area - as I recognised 2 other burials next to hers, one of a person from Rallt and the other Coedtyno. So I am thinking if this Prichard is related to her, the Coedtyno Prichards may be the match!!!!!

I agree with climbingthewalls, the records are of Clynnog Fawr rather than Capel Curig (not a parish). I've not found a Parc on the OS maps so far but here's a link to the map (later than the entry) that I've been looking at:

add - details of the parish:

Richard Ellis was the curate of Clynnog Fawr. Checking place names on the register I can see"Tai''n lon, Bwlch Derwin, Pant Glās, LLwyngwahaniadle" - which can be found on the east of this map -

Yet to check for "Tŷ yn y Parc" (or variations thereof)

"Ty yn y parc" can be found on the map I posted - north east corner.

Note - I meant " west of this map" on previous post - not east!!.

Brilliant! Great spot - and much appreciated! now for me to try and work out who exactly were her parents  ;D I thought she would have been quite easy to figure out as she's the only relative on that side o the tree (and her husband) who got lots of newspaper coverage!

Just to confuse things a bit! In 1902 a family names Jones (what else) lived in a tiny house called Parc in Carmel north of Talysarn, Parish of Llanllyfni.

Look for marker 9. Then tick Tithe map overlay , view apportionment .

I'm not sure if this is the right place but worth a look.

Thanks for that, I am seeing the occupier as an Owen Roberts, with landowner Anna Evans. I think its dated 1839. Would you know if the tithe maps go back further than 1839?
