It's quite possible that they married afterwards. I've see many such instances. It could possibly be at the outbreak of war. Did William serve in WW1?

Add - It does look like Birmingham


I have struggled to locate and definitive military records due to the name being do common but given their age when 1st child was born (30s) I think this is very possible

Are you trying to establish a birth for  Sarah A Horton c1873.

Was the birth date of daughter Ellen 12.10.1905. You know who she married??

Yes and the birth of her first child was in Bath

She also had Margaret 1907 & John 1911 both in Cardiff

Her husband is William Jenkins b.1873 newport

Sorry, yes that is the correct birth date for Ellen

I believe Sarah died in Cardiff 1919

That would be a good positive start Gadget, in the meantime one for Trudle83 and other's to pick apart. Only posting this because my own family came from similar areas ie Dudley, Tipton, Sedgley and later put Birmingham as pob.
