Lambeth Workhouse and Infirmary Brook Street
« on: Tuesday 27 February 24 19:40 GMT (UK) »
Hi Everyone,

My 3 x great grandmother Mary Murphy died in the Workhouse Infirmary, Brook Street, Lambeth, in 1885.
She lived at 9 Granby Buildings, Lambeth.

My questions are are there any records for patients at that time, and are there any photos of Granby Buildings.

Thankyou for any help

There are registers of births/deaths at the infirmary in Brook Street (later Brook Drive), as well as creed registers for the period you’re looking at, but these are not online. There are no medical records or case-books for that period. The surviving records are held at London Metropolitan Archives, under Lambeth Hospital, series ref. H01/L/B, so you would have to get the research done there.

It’s possible that she was admitted via the workhouse and then referred to the infirmary, so have you looked at the Lambeth workhouse admission/discharge registers on Ancestry?
