Marriage: Marie Joseph Defrance and Benjamin Robbé Neslette 1783/1787 ?
« on: Wednesday 28 February 24 14:59 GMT (UK) »
Hello,
Could I have a transcription and translation of the above marriage entries.

The puzzle for me is why there are two separate entries for the marriage in Neslette 4 years apart.

The links are as follows
1783:

https://archives.somme.fr/ark:/58483/9sc7wh84m31x/e551834e-16a0-4dd3-9246-11f5ec02a121

1787:

Thank you

I take the shortest one :

1787 on sunday 21st july around 11 pm died Marie Jeanne Robbe one year and a few days' old, daughter of Benjamin Robbe and Marie Josephe Defrance. Her body was buried in this parish's graveyard the day after, were present her father and Brice Ponsin , by me abbot undersigned, in witness wherof we signed this certificate on the 23d of july 1787.
erasure (crossing out) approved
Signatures

Added : I changed the year in the first line

Thank you Joger and Zefiro for your work on the above.

The record of the death of their daughter arose because MyHeritage gave a second entry for the marriage of Marie Joseph Defrance and Benjamin Robbe on 25 November 1787. When I searched for the actual entry in the Neslette parish record, there was a short entry at the end of that year (probably unrelated), so I went back a couple of pages and saw the entry including their surnames and assumed it was this. In the end it was the death of their daughter aged 1 year (and thus fortuitously gave me more information).

I presume the second entry of marriage was an error by MyHeritage.

Can I take it that the translation of the year of death of Marie Jeanne Robbe is 1787, not 1885?

I would be very grateful of the translation of the marriage in due course.

Your work is much appreciated.

I have the explanation for the mistake : go page 213 and 214 in 1787 you will see the birth certificate of marie Catherine Robbe daughter of Benjamin Robbe and marie joseph defrance  born 25 th November 1787.
Page 214 begins with the word mariage ( and page 213 finishes with du légitime ) which makes " du légitime mariage " ....
my Heritage misunderstood what that means ( the certificate begins page 213 and finishes page 214)

Thanks Joger for the explanation.

So there was another daughter Marie Catherine Robbe born just months after the death of their first daughter Marie Jeanne Robbe.

Mystery solved!

Needless to say, could I have a transcription/translation of this birth please.

Thank you
