Can anyone help?
« on: Wednesday 28 February 24 15:31 GMT (UK) »
Hi All I have been trying for weeks to trace my fathers mother, I have received an extract of her birth certificate. but does not give her date of birth, and this is where I am struggling, my father was born in 1930 at 24 mains loan ( which I have discovered was a poor hospital) or house and mother has listed address of ( domicile) as 13 Overgate Dundee, which was a poor house, she has also listed herself as a jute mill worker, i have joined ancestry and am awaiting results of DNA, I'm hoping that may trigger something, once uploaded, does anyone have any info as to where else i could look
her Name was Mary Lodge. my father was named Thomas Chalmers lodge
many thanks in advance

Hi and welcome to rootschat you say you have extract of the mothers birth certificate
Does it give a place where she was born and mothers name ? I can see your tree on Ancestry also another tree member who has a middle name for Mary McAllister Lodge ?

Not sure how accurate that is but there is a birth for a Mary McAllister Lodge 1903
Port Glasgow does the copy you have show a middle name ?

Rosie
