There is some newspaper information about a couple of other casualties on this thread (no hint of the cause though)

Don't you think that the OP's user name IAFC might just be the same person as the IAF Chambers who started the WW2Talk thread?

Yes I did realise it was the same username. I was just drawing attention to a parallel thread containing some more information.


And I'm interested in why, in your earlier posting, you think that the person IAFC was asking about was named Douglas Carruthers? As far as I am aware IAFC hasn't mentioned any name.

I didn’t say I thought he was talking about Douglas Carruthers.
Private Douglas Carruthers was one of the names on the list and the newspaper report about his death cited a road accident.
I thought that fact might be helpful.
