Marriage for Thomas Henderson born 1856

Good afternoon

I am researching my husband's paternal grandmother's line of Henderson.

I'm looking at his great great grandfather Thomas Henderson , who was born on 18th September 1856. I have a baptism for him on 12 October 1856 in Tanfield In Durham. Father George Henderson, mother Francis.

I know that he gets married sometime between 1871 and 1881, since by 1881 he is living in West Ham with his wife Elizabeth.

My husband has the wife as Elizabeth Isabella Harris but I cant find a marriage for them. Also her place of birth is questionable. The 1881 Census has her born in Chatham in Kent but the 1891 Census has her born in Westmorland in Carlisle.

Also the birth record for their only son George James Henderson has the MMN as Morgan.

I cannot find a marriage for Thomas and I'm not even sure where the marriage would have taken place given all the different locations I've come across.

Anyway able to help and discover just who Elizabeth actually was?

But (if I have the right person) the Thomas Henderson with Elizabeth in West Ham in 1881 was born Newcastle upon Tyne not Tanfield. Living in Albion Road?

Thats the right one. His birth place alters a great deal on the Census returns

Its seems as though my husband had the name of Harris wrong and when I looked her father's name is George Morgan. Did a search and found the marriage.

Meggiejayne, I think you have the wrong baptism. The Thomas in West Ham in 1881 consistently gives his place of birth as Newcastle upon Tyne right up to the 1921 census.

He appears to have been living  in Barking, Essex, in 1871.

Take a look at RG 10 / 1647/ 84/9. Thomas, born Newcastle upon Tyne, occupation, Iron moulder, (same as in 1881) with his parents James and Jane Henderson.
