Commonwealth War Graves Commission are appealing for blood relatives of Pte Richard Cook - 5th Bn South Wales Borderers - Service Number: 18245 -   died 17/1/1918 - buried St Cadoc Churchyard. Caerleon.

The Commission are in the process of producing a special memorial for him since it is not possible to mark his original grave.

burial 21 Jan 1918 Richard Cook 25 of 14 Norman Street. Note in register - "a soldier who died from the effects of German gas in the war"

From another record, he was a miner, born Cinderford, Gloucestershire, another address for him 15 Woodville Tce, Argoed.
Address on discharge Norman House, 14 Norman Street.
Next of kin - brother William Cook 41 Iron Row Tredegar
