Canada military records

I’m at a lost. I wanted to get my father in laws military records. He died 22 years ago. So I should be able to do this. I s3nt a request to veterans Canada apparently that isn’t the right department. But where they sent me is back to the Aitp area which is where I started what am I doing wrong.thanks for any help.
He was in the Second World War and was a fighter pilot
Johnston – Guelph
Deuchars – Scotland
Tierney – Ireland
Brubacher
Shevers – Scotland
Mitchell  - Fraser, Murray, Gauld, Metcalfe, Anderson,
Shand, Thain, Robson.

It appears the request can be made online, but ask the LAC which Institution name to select for requesting WW2 service records (e.g. personal information request).

If you initially selected Veterans Affairs Canada and your request was "returned" let the LAC know this in your email.
