Fanny Culverhouse and son Henry arrival 1841
« on: Tuesday 05 March 24 06:02 GMT (UK) »
Hi all, another wall, Fanny Culverhouse 1813 Trowbridge, England and her illegitimate son Henry Culverhouse 1840 emigrate to America with her brother Samuel arriving New York 11 August 1841. I have full details for Samuel apart from 1850 census which might hold a clue to Fanny. Samuel died
17 May 1896 Pittsfield, Massachusetts, USA. As always any help greatly appreciated, thanks, Pete

Are you looking for Fanny's baptism (Trowbridge, 1822, aged 9),  or what happened to her and Henry after 1841?

Just checking: do you already have details about William Culverhouse settling in Massachusetts?

Do you know who Sarah was, who also sailed in 1841 with Fanny, Henry and Samuel?

Is there any chance that Fanny and Henry could have returned to England?  Possibly Samuel returned as well and sailed back to America after 1850?

Added:  have you been able to find Samuel’s wife in 1850?

Hi Lisa, none of the afore mentioned (including the elusive Sarah who came across with then) appear in the 1850, if any of them could be found in that census it would an advantage.
Samuel first possible marriage 18 Dec 1843 Williamsburg, Massachusetts to Emma French.
Second marriage (definite) 4 Sep 1851 Framingham, Massachusetts to Philena Frances Gallup (entered as Frances on most census)
I have now found the vital records of Massachusetts until year ending 1849 and I am trolling through it, thanks.

Eldest sister Elizabeth married Samuel Reynolds 28 February 1833 Trowbridge

Their daughter Lydia England maiden name Reynolds death recorded Leominster Mass. parents Samuel Reynolds and Betsy Culverhouse of Trobridge (sp as in register) England

ADDED
Samuel Reynolds went to Massachusetts
Find a Grave 1801 - 1 July 1888 widowed Evergreen cemetery.

It would have been after the 1851 census Samuel 50, Lydia 17, Samuel 12 no wife
so perhaps Elizabeth had already died.

UPDATED
Elizabeth Reynolds 32 married was working as a servant in London in 1851
