Where are my DNA Results?
« on: Tuesday 05 March 24 13:32 GMT (UK) »
Hello

I had built up a very large tree and invested in a DNA profile under Ancestry.

One year down the line, I thought the cost of maintaining my membership was too much for my budget.

So, I decided to stop paying Ancestry.

I have just logged into their site to find only my parents subsist in my tree and my DNA results are nowhere to be seen!!

Can someone please help me to locate the lost  data? All my photos and certificates have also disappeared!

Thank you!

They are there, you just need to subscribe.

Ancestry changed their policy last year, it has been commented upon here.

You shouldn't have lost any of your tree, photos and certificates, but the number of DNA matches is now reduced to 2 unless you have an Ancestry membership.

I would ring Ancestry.

I am the manager of a test for someone who doesn't have a subscription.  If I sign in as the owner of that test - and therefore as someone without a subscription - I can still see the whole tree, and all DNA matches.

However  looking for shared matches of a match will only show a couple of them, whether there are more or not.

If signing in to the account to which your test and tree belong doesn't let you see them, I think you need to contact Ancestry.

Because you no longer have a subscription, any photos and certificates you got from Ancestry will be locked.
Once you pay for another subscription, all will be restored.

Can't comment about the DNA side - I have nothing to do with that malarkey :D

Malarkey!!!!

If you do not have DNA verification of a Family Line, it is no guarantee that the documented Family Line is valid.

I did DNA test with Ancestry and have had an account with them for years although I currently don't have a subscription. To see my DNA matches I just click on DNA tab top of page once I'm logged in then select from the following options- your results summary, origins, matches, traits, compare, surveys, activate a test, buy another test, know your pet DNA.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!
