Sorry about no headings!  I snipped only the portion!  Thank you.  So now I am looking for Mary Healy coming from County Clare to Qld.  It may prove helpful!! (or frustrating).

This is a had nut to crack but will keep at it.  Many thanks Dianna

Looks like it is "Sixmilebridge" in county Clare.  Well at least I have her age and place of birth.  Most probably an assisted immigrant.  Onwards and upwards.  Dianna

 just a few thoughts….
I don’t think you can assume that Mary Healy immigrated directly to Qld.

John Lowder was a lot older than Mary - did he have an earlier marriage?

If John worked as a carrier, then he could have travelled extensively throughout the eastern states.
( I have an ancestor who worked as a carrier in this time period, and he travelled for work from the Gulf of Carpentaria across to the Qld coast and then inland as far south as Adelaide. His children were born in various places across the country.)

When Thomas was born, there was his sister Elizabeth, and there must have been another child born before that. I wonder who that was and what became of them.

Thanks so much for all the reports.  Wonder if that is JOHN LODER (Lowder) stealing the horse.

Seems possible given the area as Dalby and the year 1869!

With the abscence of birth certificates for 2 other possible children it is hard to know.

I do agree with you that Mary HEALY may not have come directly to Qld.  I know there seems a big gap in their respective ages for John and Mary.  Thanks

It looks as he was sent to prison on St Helena, and he died there in 1870

Some very difficult writing to decipher there! :)
