John Esmond born 1812 Ballyduff Wexford

Hi all, I have traced an Esmond family living in Australia to a John Esmond b 1812 Ballyduff Wexford. He died about 1890.  He had a son Michael Esmond b 29th Jun 1857 at Killeagh Wexford.
  I dont have a spouse for John.
 The son Michael is the one that emigrated to Australia.
   Is it possible to find more information on this family. I believe that Esmond is a very old family name in Wexford.

Do you know which Ballyduff? - there are 7 in Co. Wexford.

The townland of Killeagh is in the parish of Blackwater. I see no baptism of a Michael Esmond around 29/6/1857 in the parish register

None of the Ballyduff townlands are in the parish of Blackwater.

A Michael Esmond, son of John Esmond and Anastasia Hall was baptised in the parish of Ballygarrett on the 19th July 1857, address Raheenpark.

The parish of Ballygarrett also contains the townlands of Ballyduff Upper and Lower

John and Anastasia had 8 other children. The address on 7 of those baptisms was Raheen More rather than Raheenpark, which lies to its west.
One baptism had address Killenagh.

Anastasia Hall appears to have been John's second wife.

John married firstly Brigid Cavanagh in Balllygarrett on August 13, 1833, address Ballyduff.
But note - this is presumably her address, not his.

John and Brigid had a daughter, Catherine Johanna Esmond, baptized Ballygarrett 19 December 1834, address Raheen More.

John and Anastacia's youngest child, also Anastacia, was born in 1865, in time for civil registration.

Griffiths Valuation in 1853, shows John Esmonde in Raheenpark with a small holding of 5-2-12 acres, and a decent house valued at 1-10-0 £-s-d

He also apparently rented a holding of 20-2-13 acres in the townland of Borehovel, adjoining Raheen More to the north.

John Esmond died 14 October 1888, aged 84, address Raheen More. This time his occupation is given as farmer.
