Here in NZ many workplaces have what they call industrial chaplains who far from haranging or gopsel telling provide a kind, comforting etc ear to staff with problems/concerns or who just wanted to float an idea. As one who 'hired' them in our workplace their presence was welcome because their brief was so wide that it was not stigmatising to ask for an appointment with them. They've been around in modern workplaces since the 1990s.
Some workplaces such as wharves have had them for centuries & of the religious kind. Again here in NZ we have the Missions to Seafarers
