She was living in Burlington Road but I couldn't make out the address she died at...Hendon Road Ba*

Looked for an obit and there is a report of her death in the newspaper as she was at Hendon Road Baths when she died from heart failure. She was with her married daughter Mrs Levi, with whom she also lived, Esther's address was Burlington Road and she was aged 75 (burial register has 65)

Thanks willsy, we knew from JCR-UK that Esther had died on 2 October 1894 and that she's buried in an unmarked grave in Bishopwearmouth cemetery, but JCR-UK also recorded her death age as 65.
But the information from the Burials Register is entirely new as is the information that she lived with Mrs Levi. This has opened up more lines of enquiry.

The only information I have about Jacob is from his Naturalization Certificate in 1895 where he says he was born in Gorzd (Gargždai) in Lithuania and names his parents as David and Esther Dina Harris.  And having 3 children Isaac (14), Leah (12) and Barnett (7). My wife's father was an Isaac Harris born in Sunderland - is this the right Isaac.
I have no information about Jacob's life, marriage or death.
The information on Esther Dina Harris' death says she was a widow, and the writing is unclear but the suggestion is that her husband was Jacob, and not David. But your information about Mrs Levi might lead to something. Thanks for your help.  I have an Ancestry.com account but I haven't worked out how to see who lives at a particular address on the census data.

Something leading from the Hendon rd address (on Esther's burial) ….

1901 census Mordey St, part of HENDON ST Ignatius the Martyr, Sunderland
H. Levy, 30, Com traveller, Foreign naturalised
Bertha Levy 30 wife, Foreign naturalised
Annie Levy 9 born Sunderland
Benny Levy 6 born Sunderland
Harry Levy 2 born Sunderland
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XSCG-8D1

1911 census. Same Levy family. But Bertha is now called Fanny
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:XWC7-9R7

Bernard Levy (Benny) birth 1895 in SUnderland is registered with mother’s name HARRIS
Moses Harris Levy (Harry / Harold) birth 1899 is registered with mother’s name HARRIS
Jacob Levy (Jack) birth 1906 is registered with mother’s name HARRIS
Annie Dinah Levy (Esther) birth 1909 is registered with mother’s name HARRIS

I could not see a marriage for Levy to Harris.
Nor could I find a birth for the first child Hannah/ Annie abt 1892, with mother Harris. Maybe she was registered under another surname.

Sept 1895     Fanny Levy with Annie (2) and Benny (baby) travelled from Liverpool to her husband H. Levy in New York – 168 Clinton Street . Record shows her a resident of Sunderland for 13 years.

1891 census Bishop Wearmouth
Hyman Levy born Russia abt 1872, with Levy family
Milligan - Jardine – Glencross – Dinwoodie - Brown: (Dumfriesshire & Kirkcudbrightshire)
Clark – Faulds – Cuthbertson – Bryson – Wilson: (Ayrshire & Renfrewshire)
Neale – Cater – Kinder - Harrison: (Warwickshire & Queensland)
Roberts - Spry: (Cornwall, Middlesex & Queensland)
Munster: (Schleswig-Holstein & Queensland) and Plate: (Braunschweig, Neubruck & Queensland & New York)

When Isaac applied to Edinburgh he said he was born on 5 April 1883

This is the same date of birth he gave in 1939 when he was in Hoylake, Cheshire, so at least he was consistent.  What information did he give about his father on his marriages?

Great finds neale.

For interest, there are a couple of mentions of a Hyman LEVY in the Sunderland Daily Echo - one mentions he was teaching in a Hebrew school ( July 19, 1893), the other he is suing for non payment of some items he supplied (Thursday,  Aug. 21, 1902).

Another item mentions Mr H LEVY retiring from teaching as "Hebrew master" for the "Sunderland Hebrew congregation" after 8 years service. (Thursday,  May 24, 1894).

Moses Harris Levy (Harry / Harold) birth 1899 is registered with mother’s name HARRIS

In case any of this helps, Moses RAF records has him as Moses Harris, with contact person being J. Levy, with both Moses and J Levy having an address of 14 Salem Hill, Sunderland (in 1918).
Moses DOB is 22 Aug 1899.  His civilian occupation is Medical Student, at Durham University and College of Medicine, from June 1916 to May 1917.

This corresponds to this sad article from the Newcastle Journal  09 October 1928:
Edited to add Second article mentions timing of his mother's death,  from multiple papers in October 1928
Edit #2 Moses' RAF records also indicate he spoke both French and German.
