Raymond Wilson - 1927-1993 Felling Gateshead

Morning all

I’m looking for info on Raymond Wilson.

I have the following

Wife: Thelma Pugh 1932-2023
Children: 5 Daughters 1 Son (think they may all still be living so won’t add names)

Not sure if there are any other wives.

The searches I’ve done I can’t find much Info.
1939 register has him as born 1929 but birth record 1927 if I have the correct details!

I can’t find a death notice.

Parents I have are Alfred H Wilson and Ella Gertrude Chatt.

Anything anyone can add would be great thanks

The Raymond Wilson who died Gateshead was b 1935.  The one b 1927 died Cleveland

If you know his mothers maiden name - use freebmd to search for a birth with that mmn.  The only one seems to be 1927

The marriage to Thelma was 1950 so if he has living children - can’t you contact them for info?  Last child born seems to be 1969?

Thanks for this, I will check out the one born 1935 also and this could be a fit. I’m just waiting for marriage cert to Thelma to arrive to gain info from there.

Unfortunately his children know nothing about him or his parents.

One of Raymond’s Granddaughters is a good friend of mine. And it’s her tree I’m doing for her.

I should have mentioned, I looked at the 1927 born Raymond as the family advised they were from the Felling area of Gateshead

The 1935 born lived on Saltwell Road, Gateshead on the 1939 register.
The 1927 born lived on Elliot Street Felling, Gateshead on the 1939 register.

He would have been aged 15 in 1950 so I doubt it.

Looks like it was the 1893 Ella who married John Ord in 1917 - see 1939 entry

An Ella G Ord married Ernest Smith June qtr 1940 York.  No birth reg for an Ella G Ord - but could be a second marriage

How sure are you of the death year of 1993?

The Raymond on the 1939 Register  that you found in Felling, had a birth date recorded of 12 Jun 1929.
and there is a death in Gateshead District in Q3 1992 for a Raymond Wilson birth date 12 Jun 1927 (registered in Aug)
though the birth year is different, the day and month are a match for both records?

and doing a free advanced search on FindMyPast in the 1921 census with the ONLY fields entered as

brings up 5 names

If you then go back to the search and add in another field
Relationship to head : Step-son
then you get 1 result
John Ord
back again change the relationship from step-son to step-daughter
and you get 1 result
Ella Gertrude Ord

So John and Ella were hers prior to her marrying Alfred Henry Wilson. Lavinia (and later Raymond) were Alfred and Ella's children
