There is a William Neale in trouble with the law in 1848 however he is 20 years old so not the son of
Thomas and Eliza.

Transcription on FindMyPast
There is a death of a William Neale aged 59 at White Waltham  buried 8 December 1861.
The age fits but more proof needed. Perhaps the original entry has a street address.

The William Neale mentioned above married Rachel Head - widow 15 February 1829 at White Waltham

1841/1851 census 1861 census his occupation is Sawyer born Shottesbrook, the same occupation as Thomas Neale so I expect he is the son of Thomas and Elizabeth.

They don't appear to have had any children together although Rachel has children from a previous marriage.

Hi AB,

Is this the marriage you are looking for;

William Goodchild to Elizabeth Heywort 20-10-1799 White Waltham (Berks FHS records)

I can't help with  the W/Waltham baptisms as there is a big gap in the records from 1726 - 1813

Apologies, I have had to alter this post, as I found an error in my logic.

There is a WILLIAM NEALE b. abt 1801 from Berkshire who ended up in Australia (possibly as a convict) and married an ELIZABETH LAWMAN in 1847 in West Maitland, NSW, Australia.  His death records do not identify his parents' names.  However it is widely thought that this WILLIAM NEALE (b. abt 1801) and LUCY NEALE (daughter of THOMAS and ELIZABETH NEALE) were related as either a brother, cousin or uncle to LUCY.

Can anybody find a WILLIAM NEALE (b. abt 1801) who may have criminal charges that would have resulted being transported to Australia?

Also not forgetting:

Any help is really appreciated.  Thank you.

Not to be confusing but there are also these marriages in W/Waltham which may be relevant;

2-12-1788 William Goodchild - m - Beatrice Johnson

9-6-1799 Thomas Neale - m  Elizabeth Goodchild (of Shottesbrooke)

Is this the William you are referring to?

1830 sentenced to 7 years transportation Lent 1830 Berkshire - Larceny

Certificate of Freedom/New South Wales - prisoner # 30/2022
William Neale born 1803  dated 4 November 1839 arrived 1830 ship Royal Admiral, occupation Labourer.
File C39/1970 appears to refer to his Certificate of Freedom
There is one other number 35/917 last number could be 7 or 9.(35/919)
Ref: ancestry.

Neale is a common name in Berkshire.
Perhaps The Trove in Australia can give you more information.

ADDED
When he arrived it says his occupation is Ploughman and he is 27 years old.
Under family it has 3
He was tried at Reading.
