Paris Cemetery help
« on: Wednesday 13 March 24 12:54 GMT (UK) »
I am trying to find where my grandfather was buried and found a record on the online Paris archives of his burial. To carry out the search, you have to search each cemetery separately from a drop down menu. I found him under the cemetery "Pannis". However, this is not actually a cemetery as far as I can tell. It doesn't seem to be a French word. It appears in Latin and translates to "cloth" according to Google. Can anybody kindly explain to me what this means?

Hi,

I can't see what you mean. Which of the 14 cemeteries intra muros and the 6 extra muros cemeteries are you talking about?

Can you give the link of the page where you found this word Pannis ?

May be you could give us the person' identity.

Thank you for your reply. I have attached a screenshot of Pannis shown in the drop down menu. I have also attached the page from the record. It is Maurice Richard Warren who died in 1959 that I am attempting to trace.
