Possibly if I could "top and tail" the potential army career, I should say he was released from Parkhurst Prison on 15/11/1860 and was married in July 1871.   This would allow adequately for the 10 years and 3 days military service.

It is a pity the FindMyPast entry did not contain any personal details :'( :'(
