Arthur Ernest Smith 1895-1971

While researching Arthur discovered he was in the Navy during W W1 as found photo with HMS Bacchant on cap of uniform. Also on marriage cirtificate to a French woman in Le Harve, France
(Suzanne Camont ) in1920 stated he was a sailor. Cannot locate any Naval records any help gratefully received. Many thanks

HMS Bacchant was a WW1 Cressy-class armoured cruiser built for the Royal Navy

Do you know what year he was born? Likewise where he was born -- even just the County may assist.

I have searched the National Archives for an Arthur Ernest Smith / Arthur E Smith and finally just Arthur Smith with a date of birth of 24/11/1895 but nothing came up.
