Regt on WW1 Medals?
« on: Thursday 14 March 24 13:44 GMT (UK) »
Pte John Burke
What Numbers and Regts are stamped on his 1914/15 Star
And his British War Medal and Victory Medal?
As someone has a different opinion to what I thought.
Does the Pencil X have any Relevance?

John Burke disembarked with the 15th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers on the 22nd November 1915 and entered Theatre of War 1 (France and Flanders). His 1914/15 Star would be stamped with his LF number, 10288. (as per the Medal Rolls for 1914/15 Star)

Thanks Jim1
That was always my understanding so when I told the Ancestors that looking for All 3 Medals under 10288  Lancs Fusiliers was incorrect
they wouldn't have it that the British War Medal and Victory Medal were under 62423 RWF
Which made me seek a second opinion of my experience
Cheers

Sorry but could I ask what is the source of the image shown in the original post?

I have a relatives medal record that shows a victory medal awarded.

How could I get a similar image as that shown? - see attached extract from the medal card.

Thanks.
