Hi,

I was just going to say that I had a relative in the 71st Regiment of Foot who served in Ireland with a child born in Cloyne Ireland in 1824 and the next child was born in 1826 at Stoke Dameral in Devon.

No obvious rhyme or reason for it, as the next one was then born in Chatham Kent before the family moved north.

It seems quite likely that Stoke Dameral had some importance to troops returning from Ireland (perhaps as a staging post?) so I don't think the death suggested should be dismissed out of hand.

Alan

Oh no way! I had dismissed this record long ago due to information I received from an organisation regarding Muster Records - now guess what? - it is the John I'm looking for. I don't know whether to be happy or annoyed :-\
