For info. Just in case you don’t have this census

1851 living 43 George Street, Stonehouse Mary Ann & her son Phillip plus a visitor https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:SGJ7-GQY Philips age has been transcribed as 42

Is this record related to your Philip?

Philip McCree
Age at Start of Service   26
First Service Date   31 Jan 1826
First Ship Served On   Brazen
Last Service Date   24 Apr 1850
Last Ship Served On   Ganges
Record Type   Entry Books of Certificates
Date Range   1850 Jun - 1851 Apr
UK, Naval Officer and Rating Service Records, 1802-1919

Thank you so much.
I do have the census return for the family in 1851 and also 1861, but no details of Philip or Mary Ann after then. From 1871 Alexander is found in the census records in Lochbroom.
The naval service records are fascinating, but of course, I then wonder where Philip served after 24 April 1850.
It's all questions, questions, questions...............
