As you can see, Elizabeth looks to have been born c. 1869 rather than 1862. The GRO site www.gov.uk/general-register-office is undergoing maintenance but you can double check when it is back up and running. Elizabeth's birth entry on the index should also include mother's maiden name.

Martin Jardine and wife Elizabeth look to have been buried at the Staplegordon Cemetery in Langholm.

www.findagrave.com/memorial/208139179/james-jardine only mentions Martin and Elizabeth's son James who died in WW1. The burial registers for the cemetery show that Martin was also buried there on 30 Aug 1902 (age 33) and Elizabeth on 23 January 1937 (age 68).

The first born appears to be James Johnston
Christening 26 April 1856 Stanwix, Cumberland
Parents David and Elizabeth Johnston

Birth registration
JOHNSTON, JAMES       Mother - JARDINE
GRO Reference: 1856  J Quarter in CARLISLE  Volume 10B  Page 399

Birth registration for
JOHNSTON, ELIZABETH       Mother - JARDINE
GRO Reference: 1869  M Quarter in CARLISLE  Volume 10B  Page 459

I don’t see a baptism in England for Elizabeth.

1901 census 26 Caroline Street Langholm
David Johnstone 68, pattern weaver, born Gretna
Elizabeth Johnstone 72, wife, born Annan

Possible Death for David Johnstone 1912 in Langholm
Mother’s maiden name – McCubbin

Death for Elizabeth Johnstone (nee Jardine) 1910 in Langholm
Mother’s maiden name – Halliday

Elizabeth Jardine's ancestors ......... (must be confirmed against her death certificate)
There is a William Jardine married to Elizabeth Halliday living in Annan in the 1841 – 61 census.
William is a cotton weaver in 1851, born abt 1794 in Lochmaben. His wife Elizabeth Halliday born abt 1798 Annan.
This is them with family in 1841 census  Daughter Elizabeth is 12.

 - Not many of those children have baptisms recorded.

and in 1861 census William Jardine and Elizabeth nee Halliday

Have a look on Scotlands People for their deaths – possibly in Brydekirk.

Note:-
I think that Joseph Jardine (who is 4 months in 1841 census) married Jane Irving in 1862 Annan.
Their son was Martin Jardine (born 1869 Middlebie) who married Elizabeth Johnstone.

Mmmmmm, now getting complicated…… cousins marrying.  ;)
