F Adams ....Wykeham roll of honour
« on: Friday 22 March 24 14:46 GMT (UK) »
I have come across a F Adams on the roll of honour of the gates of Wykeham Church. I have Adams from Wykeham but cannot work out who this is!!
Any help would be great as I imagine he does fit in somewhere.
Many thanks

Presume you mean the Roll of Honour for one of the wars?  Which war - first or second?

Literally just F Adams off the Roll of Honour memorial. Its proving difficult, it not Frederick Adams who was born 1878 and was my Great Grandfather

Frank was the first F name that sprang to mind so could look for a Frank Adams but I agree an uphill task  :-\

He could have died anywhere in wartime.  There might be a local newspaper mention?

Is this Roll of Honour a list of people who died or of people who served in the Army or Navy?

So problem solved. F ADAMS is Frederick ADAMS the G Gdad of the op. Ancestry has his army service record which shows his wife was Mabel WHALL and Fred can be seen living with her in Warwickshire in 1911 along with her brother.
Fred and Mabel are still alive at the time of the 1939 Register.
