Hoping someone could help me as I'm trying to help a friend.
I have very little information but trying to find information and death year for:
Seigmund Gütman/Gütmann
Born around 1853 in Austria.
Married Mary Jane Bateman in 1896 in Boston, USA.
They had a son in 1898 Boston, USA, Edward Gütman who later spelled his surname as Goodman.

Mary Jane and Edward travelled back to England in October 1898 without Seigmund.

Seigmund's parents are possibly Edward and Anna Gütmann.

(I have information on Mary Jane and Edward in England, I'm just stuck on Seigmund)

Seigmund's parents are possibly Edward and Anna Gütmann.

His marriage on 7 November 1896 certainly gives his parent's names as Edward and Anna. He is 43 years old and occupation is "Agent".

They had a son in 1898 Boston, USA, Edward Gütman who later spelled his surname as Goodman.

Edward was born 18 August 1897 (registered 27 Sept) parents Seigmund (born Austria, commercial traveller) and Mary (born England).

Mary Jane GUTMAN marries Alfred Walter MEEK in Dec qtr 1909 West Ham (4a/666), and they are together on the 1911 census with her son Edward. So presumably she is either widowed or divorced in 1909.

I see Mary GUTMAN (34, wid, school teacher ) lodging in Edmonton in 1901 without Edward - do you know where he is?

Yes I have all that information. Son Edward is living with mother's sister and husband in 1901 in Yorkshire. He is back with his mother and stepfather by 1911.
Its his father I can't seem to find.

I will check it out.
His wife did travel back to England without him in 1898 and she's not with him in 1901. I can't find any documentation that he travelled back to England aswell.

No such name as "Seigmund".  It's Siegmund or Sigmund.
And Gutmann (with variant Guttmann) is much more probable than Gütmann.
