Mary PINCOCK
« on: Tuesday 26 March 24 14:22 GMT (UK) »
Seeking information about Mary PINCOCK from Euxton, Lancashire. She was the unmarried mother of Richard PINCOCK who was born 1912. Roger THOMPSON was Richard's father. He was born 1788 Euxton and was ordered to pay maintenance at the petty sessions. I have Roger on the 1841 and 1851 Census at Pear Tree Lane Euxton but no further information on Mary. Can anyone help please?

Doubt Roger was born 1788 & fathered a son in 1912 😂

Also - no Richard Pincock birth 1912

Can you please clarify & amend your dates to avoid confusion

Suspect you mean 1812 but by 1841 Mary could have married.  Have you checked www.familysearch.org

I've asked the moderator to move your post to the Lancashire board

I notice Richard is in Wigan in 1841 - there is a marriage on 30.3. 1819 at All Saints Wigan between Mary Pincock & William Davis

From what I can find, there was actually only 1 Mary Pincock baptised in Euxton in the right time period:

Mary, daughter of Richard & Ann Pincock, baptised 5th May 1776 in Euxton.

Father is Richard, which could explain why she named her son that. Would make her a bit older than Roger, which is perhaps unusual, but not unheard of.

I'm wondering whether this could be Mary?  ???

Mary, wife of William Davis, buried on 11th August 1829 in Wigan, Lancashire. Her abode is given as Scholes, her age at death given as 51, making her born c.1778.

Unfortunately, Mary, William and Davies/Davis are all common names.
